At a school concert (many years ago), the first clarinettist was absent, but I still had to play second clarinet. Just as well as I didnt know the first part too well.

Thanks for your note on Jack's thread. Good point, was not sure where to post. I have not been there for a couple of months, so must go soon. You may have read about the problems I have had with the soup.

Hi Jigjag,
Don’t remember the soup issue specifically, but followed the rest room and egg problems. How far back is the soup problem?
Bet the lovely Cassie’s lurking in the background 🤔😜

From the BBC today (my underline):

A Home Office spokesman said: "In the last year, 19,000 people were removed voluntarily from the UK and this is an important part of our efforts to tackle illegal migration.

Surely an oxymoron?

I have checked my diary and I see that I visited the market cafe on 1st, 6th and 21st Dec 2023. The reports are on Pedants United 2022 thread, which covered 2 years. Malone started a new thread for 2024.

Hello, Jigjag, lovely to see you.

I chuckled earlier when I saw that SimpleSimon said 'Bet the lovely Cassie's lurking in the background'. From what I've heard, read, Cassie maybe doesn't do much lurking - I can picture her centre stage and making her presence very much felt!

You are right, Cassie certainly takes centre stage. She is always dashing around, taking orders, serving and washing-up, plus engaging in
banter with customers. The owner, Paul, just stays in the kitchen cooking.

Thanks, Jigjag. It was lovely to hear a little bit more about the redoubtable Cassie. I think there might have been one little slip-up in your post - I think you meant to say that Cassie is 'always giving and taking orders'.

PS Paul is a very wise man.

If you’re in the cafe tomorrow- tell Cassie March 14 th is Pi day. That’s Pi as in 3.14159 etc. Furthermore, you can tell her it’s irrational. We await her reaction.
