That's fair enough Justsolve, although I would add that when you ask Google the question "is ....a country"? The very first reply says that "....is an island country"

My own view, for what it's worth, is that it isn't.

Cannot parse 21d although I have an answer that fits with the crossers - O_H_M
Any hints?

a 3 letter word in the wordplay means "school", mainly seen in crosswords

Definition is letters; the o comes from old, the h from hard, and the school is aquatic.

Hi everyone

Well I'm finding it hard. I've done all bar six, but not sure of the parsing of some I've got. In particular:
9ac what money has been thrown away?
19ac should mean more than that?
13d where does the driver come in? Is it something to do with golf, about which I know nothing!
21d I don't know the aquatic school.

But I'm not sure if I have the right answer for 6d and I haven't got 10ac despite the hints above. Is it really an anagram. Is the definition "through"? I've just got 5ac, which helps narrow down the options for 6d. Ah ha, just got 7d and 10ac (Pauline indeed). So pleased my answer for 8d must be right.

9a - the wordplay is 4,5 with M(oney) the 4th letter of the first word being discarded.

19 a a weak clue
13d yes, sounds like what might be shouted after a poor shot in golf

Roof, 21d is a school of whales.

Or rather, that part of the clue.
