7d read lippy as “like a lip”
10a parses 2,3. virtually means ‘missing last letter’

Apologies, I meant 3,3 for 10a.

thanks jono - finally finished. once i convinced myself that 7d must be right (which took some doing!), 10 became obvious.

As others have said, the great clues just keep coming and coming. Thanks to Vlad for a great prize though not as easy for me as others. Can't call a CoD but anyone starting out finding it tough, as Brendan would normally say, go for one long anagram in both the acrosses and the downs.

I would like some help if possible with 3d and 26a. 3d I can parse but the definition doesn't seem right. 26a I just can't parse so I'm thinking I may have the wrong answer.

26. Defn. is the first word. Parses as a three letter word for ‘like fox’ around one letter current and two letter politician.

3d. Look up the definitions of “saw”. This one I only ever see in crosswords but it crops up rather often so worth remembering

docrum - the solution to 1d parses as two terse phrases (1,3) and (3,3), definition is honestly.
