Stuck on 15a. Can't see a country name that will fit.
Have all the crossers and for 1d have a phrase that means "honestly".

Mikey 15a was a new word for me. Def is "order" but the answer is a a homophone of a country + Saxon Genitive.

Got it. 15a is not a country.

A slow but satisfying solve for me - definitely not easy!

Very happy to see my football team's manager get a mention considering our record breaking home form...

15a - the definition is "order" (Russian) and is a homophone of a "country's" (apostrophe S is part of it)

i've seen 15a, mostly in crosswords, i'm not sure i've ever heard it said. i had assumed it was 3 syllables.

Bit of a struggle all around but there in the end. FOI was 19A which probably indicates the speed with which I got going. COD for me iD for economy. Added amusement as an Old Stortfordian to find "Bishop's Stortford" and "old school" in consecutive clues.

Brendan Wikipedia says "commonly known as" which is probably the case but it doesn't make it true!
