Thank you — it was the last four words which were the problem. Have found it in my Chambers ,another new word .

Just four left which are proving a problem. 1A Old bird became indignant (6,4). I have B?I?E?/ ??E?. It looks like a familiar synonym of became indignant, but parsing? That leads to 4D A very small amount of time (3,6). I have ??E/?IU?E. An obvious literal answer? Also 9A It’s black in London with patches on a page (6). Previous posts suggest unusual word for patches? I have ?R?A?S and no idea! Last one 52D. Is it a synonym of flags? I have B?N?E??
I’d be grateful for a few steers.

52, yes. 4 letter thematic + cockney "woman's"
