Am very close to finishing my first listener (I may have picked a good one to start with dependent on how you look at it) Messages understood except cannot make head nor tail of the following >
22 down it looks like the correction is ‘s’ BUT should be ‘o’. Am I missing something
27 down can’t parse this, are we doing a few abbreviations for ‘a’? PLUS my nth letter coming up ‘T’ which makes no sense of penultimate word in the instruction.
And 24 across less frustratingly cannot parse why it is what it is after that initial ‘a’. Have got the correction/definition. Is is just as simple as that heady stupor post imbibing???

22d - You have the correct letter (maybe you haven't pluralised the 'd' word?).
27d Yes, the two words (either side of 'most') provide the 'a' abbreviations for the anagram fodder. Again, you have the correct 'nth' letters - it's the 36th letter of the instruction.
24a The last 4 letters defined in Chambers - ''to drain a bottle of wine to the last drop''.

And while I'm here - thanks, acornz, for your definition of 'homage' (can't wait for an opprtunity to pay homage to it}.

Well that was good, eventually. Took me a while. I don’t usually submit, but I might this time for fun.

Thanks drxx.

In collating everything I hadn’t realised that 23 was the only instance where it was listed across and down so was missing 23 down out ergo 2 key letters omitted and coincidentally had me trying to go singular not plural on both the dedicatees and that bit of the message. All sorted now. Should probably go and invest in the BRB. Thank you!

One slightly loose end for me. 13a, I can parse and have the misprint. I just can’t quite square the definition as being ‘Happily s(.)ay’ - doesn’t really seem to match anything in the BRB, although it’s not too far off.

I agree that the inclusion of the word "happily" in the definition is a little strange but googling the solution to 13a gives several references to drink-induced wooziness, although this isn't mentioned in the BRB (or Collins or ODE).

Have finished this one - to my relief. However can someone help me parse 20 across? I can see the misprinted letter but cannot see where it belongs to make any sense of the completed clue.

Incidentally if anyone is interested in the member of the quartet who is no longer with us I'd recommend the excellent podcast "A History of Rock Music in 500 songs. In episode 105 it turns out he was the driver to another artist and given an audition by chance.

Replace the 'J' with it and look up the result in Chambers, williamseal.
