Lumen - 7's wordplay is a 3-letter word for "only" into which is inserted a 4-letter word for "travel in a vehicle" which is reduced to 2 letters by the removal of "De". A 1-letter first-person pronoun for "the writer" ends the word whose def is "palm" - A being the extra letter.

Now 19. The def is "idol" - a new word to me and it won't do any good my telling you that I found it in Bradford's. Wordplay is a 3-letter word for "chasm" to which is added a 3-letter word for "got together" - H being the extra letter.

If I have revealed too much, then take me out and shoot me or have my posts deleted.

By the way, I too haven't a clue about the title. If a title is an aid to solving or provides a knowing chuckle after solving, that's to the good. If not, I really don't care.

I have never owned Bradfords so with more googling I came across a tutorial which was an eye-opener ! Still not anywhere near finished

Bradford's is incredible. Trying to solve without it is like solving with one hand tied behind your back.

I reckon it's knocked a good hour off the solve time for the medium - difficult ones for me.

Highly recommended.

@Smellyharry I have always resisted buying Bradfords even though it has been recommended to me since 2011.
I have always felt it is almost like cheating and my reason is that want to use my brain as much as possible. I am always a bit slower in solving than those with Bradfords but I am too set in my ways to change now :- )

PS I've now solved the inner ring . Hurray !
