I think you're right, dodgepot. That's what I was getting at when I mentioned the irregular bar pattern earlier on - it's possible to opt for 'r' or 'e' in the 2nd ring depending on where you end the jumble in the inner ring (I took the more direct/obvious option - but that isn't the case for the entry at 2, which runs off the most offset square).

Thank you, Gitto and Drxx. That’s exactly what I was getting at. I do see Ace of Hearts’ difficulty. The only other option for the other five letters given by Quinapalus wouldn’t be acceptable nowadays, as Aussie slang for an effeminate person,, but there’s a two word option, again Aussie slang for to impose on, which would be unambiguous, I think

Don’t think there should be options should there.

I’ve always thought a radial just goes through all the cells as if you drew a straight line from the centre of the outer cell to the centre of the circle

Thank you, Candledave. That was the stricter requirement I wondered about in my original post. It certainly simplifies entry if that always holds true in all circular puzzles, and explains the significant cell size variation in the inner three rings. I have never seen it specified, though.

An enjoyable puzzle on a very muggy afternoon. All complete but I can’t satisfactorily parse radials 3 and 24. Any tips welcome.

There's only one option there as there's only one inner ring cell in line with each radial.

Good puzzle, although pdm came very early for me (for a change) so had all the circulars very early, which made it fairly straight forward. Agree with earlier poster though that it can sometimes be a slog to fill in the last few radials but not the case here.

3 was one of my last few as well. The four outer letters are given by the last 3 words of clue. The middle 2 keeping up recent theme of foreign abbreviations.

24 is a single letter followed by a 5 letter word.

I'll buy one of those divider thingies one of these days... and maybe even a ruler.

Thank you, Smellyharry. Quite obscure clues. I have never come across that abbreviation before.

Well that went better than I thought it was going to after the first hour!

Just one bothersome entry - radial 4. From the letters I have there's only one current candidate from the 5 letters I have but the parsing escapes me unless it's like '****ings of ginger beer'. Could be I have a problem with 5 but it seems to work, although the definition is a bit loose.
