I've almost finished. But I must have gone astray somewhere. Almost full grid, identified subject and the thematic shape, highlighted three concepts. However, the two remaining clashes could equally be used, in that whichever letter is chosen, two real words result in each case. Also, for the corrections of misprints, I have seven consonants followed by vowel/consonant/vowel, which yields six letters then a short English word. Baffling. Can anybody help me find the true path, please?

Piffleworthy - Those 2 clashes are to be resolved in accordance with the part of the introduction: "... with the clashes at ..." &c.

The magic of posting has helped me resolve my definitions corrections error and I think the message makes sense, read 5-3-2.

The unresolved clashes still bother me though.

Thank you will37, I thought that might be the case. Will return to it after a spot of lunch.

Are the anagrams real words? It’s not clear from the preamble.

Yes, dorsetjan, the anags are real words.

Hi PW

You’re correct - in the absence of other information, the two non-thematic clash cells are non-disambiguatable.

However, using - fully - the second concept will identify the correct options, as per the latter part of the preamble.

That took some doing but it all worked very smoothly, including the disambiguation of the two clashes with two possible outcomes. Thank you, Mr Sharky.

PW, for what it’s worth, I read the message from the corrections as 5,5. The second 5 is in a significant non-English language; at least I thought so. But I am often wrong!
