I'm done, all but 41d. Previous tips did not help at all.

Hi Lumen, it's a very regional word, I remember it from Newcastle where you might be accused of ****ing if you were messing about. The parsing is something like where a beast might hang out with one common crossword letter for king changed to another.

(I initially thought it was a word associated with funerals but also a holiday week).

Stuck on 22A I think I know what the letters must end up being but I can't find a definition that fits and it's irritating me! Is the definition the last four words with a misprint?

Thanks granama. Never heard heard that word.
Just started looking at IQ now.
Not much success in first 30m!
Looks a tougher challenge with lots of cold solving.

Yes, Scubaj, the def for 22 is the last 4 words but there is no misprint. There is, though, a clash which needs to be resolved in the grid entry.

Nobody has mentioned the 10 letter message from the misprints. I've completed the whole puzzle, but still only have 9 of the letters, which don't altogether make sense. Is it a two word phrase?

Yes it’s a two word phrase. An English word followed by a word that isn’t English
