I am slowly getting there! Have the theme, have the line from the song and the missing word, just most of the clues to solve now!!

Trying not to give too much away, but 21a is driving me nuts. I think I have the 6,6 bit and the thematic but the 8th letter of the combined answer needs to be repeated at some point (not specified by me) and I cannot see where it comes from.

I've got the song and the theme but what's holding me up is how to enter the answers with fewer letters in the grid. 30d is straightforward but 5d isn't, not to mention 15d and 19a.

Aspria, I am in the same boat as you other than I know how to enter 15d. I wish 30d was straightforward (i.e. the answer).

If you have the theme then you are a long way towards which letters are not entered (sometimes combining the letters from crossing clues both of which lose letters).

enjoying this one - but hit a wall. Have a full grid (with dots), but cannot work out the erasion or the change. it probably doesnt help that i havent identified the 6 moving items (think i have four of them), and cannot parse any of the first 5 across clues!

If you have 4 of the 6 there's a good chance you have enough of an 'initial hint' to the grid entry that is altered.

...although your very final statement is problematic in this respect.
