The Theme
Requests may be made here for help with the theme. This 'help' should be in the form of useful tips or pointers, not anything overly revealing. A nudge in the right direction is good, spoiling the puzzle for others isnt! Any requests or answers that - even inadvertently - reveal too much are likely to be removed.

The Listener is a unique puzzle and should be treated with respect.

I found this very enjoyable (considering the theme) and the clues are a good mix, I think, but I'm finding the last step ambiguous. Are we to be very literal or do we take in the whole range (a different final word would have avoided this)?

How many pieces of art? One per item or one per pair? I think there might be overlap either way.

I went for one each and overlaps.

...'each' = per item.

Seems like the most sensible approach to me; but I think that, with the overlap and artwork for each separate item, the notion of paired items falls apart.

I think, '...added in the set of...' maintains the pairs (but I haven't given it much thought).

But you had overlap, correct? I could make an argument for covering four items in one. I don’t think the pairs work consistently. So I can think of at least three different approaches. Hope the grading is sensible.
