40 mins today didn't have to use a Thesaurus for any of them either, probably a first. Only used Wikipedia to look up Monet paintings as well, which turned out not to be the answer anyway.

Had to come here for the correct parsing of the second word of 11D, but the answer was clear.

19D probably took me longest to get, but weren't the last ones in, which were 13 and 25.

19D and 20A probably my faves.

6A made sense to me: inside (French + Quietly) insert (Left duck).

@Chrise re. 4d: I was thinking if you have one in the East end then it has a border on each side...?
(Like the old Bonzos song "My Pink Half of the Drainpipe" :-)

What I'm stuck on is 19d - I have all the crossers M*R*L*S
and I can see a starting word that satisfies "figuratively, one's" but I've no idea how the thing could work.

Hi Jvector,

19d - Is a double definition - the first one is "irregularly stains" (think of the streaky pattern on the answer_ and the second is "figuratively one's senses" (as you might say when someone's lost their senses - "he's lost his "M???????")

jvector: Your crossers are correct, but you probably knew that! I parsed this as follows: first two words are the definition, last three are a rather cryptic definition. Not sure what you mean by starting word.
Thanks for the note about 2d - I presume that’s what you’re referring to.

Hi Davel, I wasn't totally convinced I'd got it completely right so I was pleased (and a little relieved) to see that you'd parsed it the same way:-)

Hi brendan, that’s good. But don’t put too much store by my parsing. Jono had to correct one of my efforts recently. He did it nicely though, just posted his superior parsing, didn’t mention mine. 😀

if you put H in front of the answer you also have a also border.
The Bonzo fellow would have dropped the H as he was a cockney being an Eastender)

Do you know the 'appy memory it recalls?
Here's a photograph of me and my son, Ted
That's me cousin with his 'anky on his 'ead!

Apropos Bonzo Dog .....

When I was but a wee lad my older brother bought a second hand VOX AC30 amp from our local music store and written inside was "property of Neil Innes"!
