Can anyone tell help? I'm using the app for the first time, have completed the grid, pretty sure of all my answers and spelling, but there is no famous green tick and the timer is still going - any idea what I am doing wrong please?

Hi Justsolve,
The timer will keep going whether youv’e finished or not. I prefer to turn it off. You should be able to get a green tick however. Check for typos and maybe close the app and go back in.

Thanks Jono, I have triple-checked for typos but I guess I am missing something obvious! I will give my brain a rest and try again later...

Hi JustSolve,

The tick often fails to appear, even when all is correct. Try changing one of the correct letters and then immediately changing it back - that often works for me.

Enjoyed this - though I was held up for a while thinking that if ‘sharp’ was part of the anagram in 9d then the definition must be ‘what could be’ and went down the rabbit hole of future/destiny, etc! Should have taken a lesson from ‘primarily’ clues which always smush things together. My COD was 15 as it made me smile and I always like clues that acknowledge us solvers!

Would never have got the parsing of 20a without help from here and ditto the Whats App ref.
Can't work out the Spoonerism (as ever) -what's Arthur Conan Doyle got to do with it?

Loubylou, you just need “Doyle” in combination with a word for pleads to hear the Spoonerism

I'd never have got the parsing of 20a without help from here either. And I'm frustrated at STILL not being able to see the parsing of 15a (my LOI), as so many have said it's their COD!

All in all, a very enjoyable puzzle though.
