One of the easier Everyman's but no less enjoyable for that.

FOI was 1a followed by the crossing 2d.

I still haven't parsed 20a and I'm also not sure what part "little" plays in 19d but no doubt some helpful soul will help me out with these:-)

It also took quite a few attempts before I managed to work out the Spoonerism but it did make me smile when it finally clicked.

COD - I'm going with the clever and witty (IMHO) 15a.

Oh, and I spotted a rhyming pair - Hurrah!

I'm sure you're right but it just seems odd to stick an specific adjective in there, surface or not - or maybe I'm just tired:-)

Looking forward to someone explaining 20a - my answer is "condition of poor visibility" but I can't see any of the wordplay?

20a. is 2 words for 'enormous pleasure', minus 1 letter, + 'boat (2)

I don't see the relation of the last 2 letters in 2d. to 'WhatsApp', but then I'm not a user of it ...

I found this difficult because I struggled mightily with 2 (which was LOI) and 15. But I'll call them co-CODs.
FOI 7, LOI 2. Also liked 8, 9, 17, 13 and 14.

In the same boat re. 20: wrote in an answer assuming defn. "condition of poor visibility", but haven't yet parsed.
