Hi Lumen,

3 - Is one of the acronyms/abbreviations - For "key" think 'keyboard'

42 - The answer is literally the first sound to "accompany" - the "spinning" refers to how to treat a 4 letter synonym of "laundry".

.... the "key" follows "one" (bearing in mind it's No 3)

Sorry Lumen, I'm a moron!

3 - Is NOT an acronym - the definition is "character in English history"

“Character in English [language] history.” That is an old English character. There is more than one kind of “character”…..

.....and "history" simply refers to the character's no longer being in use.

Ok, I do think those are two of the most convoluted clues I've seen, and I have completed every IQ for the last three years!

You will be pleased to know I finished this puzzle last night!
I just felt that 3, being a very obscure solution, deserved a clearer definition than 'character in English history', and that we needed 'first sound in accompany maybe' or 'for example' to make that definition fair?

Can anyone give me a hint for the grey cell? I've got the blue, and think I have the pink ones (is it the same word in different directions?).

Hi felipedon
Clearly people have moved on to other puzzles hence lack of replies.
The grey is first letter of one of the thematic representations that goes across in the grid in an inverted U. It then doubles/reverses back on itself and forms the penultimate letter of the same representation.
