Re 20a, Malone is suggesting that the misprint is in "became."

Aha, thank you MPR (and Malone)! I was interpreting that word purely as a link. One of my weaknesses in trying to come to grips with the Listener is overcoming my instinct to try and make the clues fit cryptically by any means necessary…

A confession. Until I looked again I had 'leek' = keel over as the part to be highlighted, Also my start was stuttering because having solved the long down unclued, I thought that the name was George Biddle Airy an astronomer whose entry included the location. This mistake mucked up a number of entries!!

Thanks, Mathprof
ChrisRemo, I looked up the definition after my earlier reply to you - it confirmed my thinking, but I felt hesitant about repeating it!

First one I've tried for a while and finished it all and the ultimate solution etc but couldn't quite parse 15ac and having looked up a definition I'm none the wiser. Any clues? TIA

Afish, 15a. is an abbreviation for 'the queen' in an unusual word for 'reward'.

I'm still embarrassingly stuck on the first part of the instruction. I have a full grid and a (surprisingly short) highlighted bit, but I can't determine if the instruction is indicating there's more highlighting to be done, or some other kind of grid manipulation, or if it's simply meant to be a process in order to arrive at the relevant unclued answer itself. (Although that doesn't seem likely, as it was straightforward to fill based on context.) I'm sure I'm missing something blindingly obvious...

ChrisRemo, changes have to be made to the/in the completed grid. Where this is can be discovered from 'the other...'. If those entries, other entries, fir the info given in the preamble (name, awards...) what about the one, the single one, that doesn't to the one that doesn't?

Sorry, my typing want awry at the end- I think because I was trying to work out how to nudge you towards the instruction, where it's to be carried out. Just recheck your unclued entries against the preamble..
PS i think a very similar hint appeared much earlier in this thread!
