Hi Jack,

5d - the "tide" is 3 letters and goes round an anagram - the complete word would mean ""Madeira lady"

Definition is first two words, blowing is an anagram indicator within (stop) tide. Remove first 3 letters and leaves a word defined by the additional word in 21ac. Hope this helps. I’m stuck on bottom left but will carry on.

Thank you Brendan and Quisling. Truly I am a bear of very little brain! The extra word in 32a obviously associates with another down answer. That in 21a is a precise match for 5d as parsed by Brendan and thematically amended.

An appropriate correction to the title, all things considered...

Dylan, as the clues are complicated this week, complicated in that there are special bits to be inserted or removed, I won't chip in with my usual bit of 'please give the full clues...'!

Hi Dylan,

19a - 3 letter "siri" + "the source of this" - definition is "throb"

19d - original clue is just a single letter - definition is 160 but it's thematic matching with 10a.

PS - 19a was the last clue I parsed so apologies if I've messed it up.

Very enjoyable; is it cavilling to point out that one can complete the grid with more or less certainty without solving every clue and/or identifying every bit of thematic material? I am missing this in 16D, so a hint would be appreciated!
