As this thread is no longer so time-critical, it might not always appear at 16.01 - it could be 16.15, 16.30...even the quickest, smartest solvers won't have it finished by then!

Phew! That was a stiff challenge and I did, at times, wonder if I'd ever finish.

I think I only got about 8 answers on the first pass with just 2 that could be entered in the grid. That said, this is a puzzle where perseverance is repaid in spades.

Like Jordan, there a still 2 or 3 that I can't fully parse but everything matches up thematically so no worries.

I have virtually finished this other than the first letter of 29 down. According to what I have this has to be an ordinary clue and therefore naturally leads to what that letter should be - but I simply cannot parse it - very irritating end to a very good puzzle.

Gitto, 29 is a Scottish word for drunk + abbrev for loch

Loge - I just got it literally 30 seconds ago - why I didn't check chambers for the 1st three letters baffles me.

I had an éclaircissement[/] early on which helped a lot. I have the theme and the title and I have a full grid, apart from the last letter of 5d which I am finding impenetrable to parse or associate with a “definition” from one of the extra words, At present my best hypothesis is that the answer is a four letter word in the original clue and that it associates with the additional word from 32. Nudges appreciated.
