Thanks PS:-)

Hi Geeker,

5a - I know one specific use is when actors, trying to deliver a serious line, break out in to fits of giggles and laughter.

23a - No rhyming slang just a DD although one definition is slang.

Barney Rubble = trouble = argument.

5 is what comedians do when they are trying not to laugh at jokes.

Apologies for typo: 24 (not 14) appeared in Indy 11,000.

Thanks, Brendan. I had to google the (rhyming) slang for 23 before finding the dd.

Apologies if 23a is related to rhyming slang.

Didn't 10a crop up recently in the same type of clue?

Brendan, 10 does look familiar, and it's not an infrequent crossword guest, but I (Google - search with site:fifteensquared.net) can't find any super-recent examples.
