WS. 8dn and 37ac are both straightforward clues.

Could you give me a hint either (or preferably both)? It looks to me that I am having a singularly bad day.

WS. For 37ac, think back to when you were a cub.
For 8 dn, reverse first name, after its heading, then think back to your Latin classes.

Looks like your take on 8 down is different from mine, SS. I did consider the last three letters as the Latin for "but" though an alternative spelling of the answer has the last three letters as a letter of the alphabet which also means a bar of metal shaped like said letter. Not much to choose between them except wouldn't the Latin have been indicated in the clue?

Loge, I don’t think it’s close between them. No doubt in my mind that your parsing of 8d is the correct one

I must be monumentally dense, I suppose. I have everything worked out, know all the locations and the jumbled names, but I CANNOT see a connection between 1 down and the first part of the park location. I know what the location is, I know what 2a provides I know several meanings of 1d, but I can't bring them all together. Help!

All done, but I would be a lot happier if “ Bank” in 31dn were “Rank”. What am I missing ?

Moffat, I think the third meaning in the BRB supports it, though the other word would do equally well.

Zabadak, the second meaning of the synonym in the BRB should get you there. If it doesn’t work, you might have the wrong “park” location
