Thanks M&T : )

One parsing query...

In clue 6 starting "Baronet" I have a couple of theories on securing the letters I need from "rare unorthodox" but neither is particularly convincing.

Um, unorthodox as anagrind and rare as fodder? In a two-letter abbreviation for baronet?

HW7. Correct, meant change not remove. Trouble is we’re running several in parallel , gets confusing.

Malone, Xwordian: thank you for your replies and offers of help. I apologise for replying late, but I tend to avoid the forum until I’ve completed the crossword and only return to see how others have found it. I was able to get access to a PDF copy thanks to a generous special offer on Times subscriptions so a disaster was averted. I agree with all of the comments here about this puzzle, which was gentle, very fair and completely unambiguous. Hats off to Kruger!

Kitsune, thanks. I wasn't sure if you'd ever accessed the puzzle via the suggestion I posted - but I'm glad you got a copy anyway!

As I am beginning to lose the use of my hands and find it difficult to write, is it possible to submit my solutions electronically? Does it entail subscribing to The Times Online? Please help me to continue with this most enjoyable of crosswords.

Sorry to hear that jollity. I'm not aware that you can submit electronically i'm afraid. With the Times subscription you just get an online link to a pdf that you can print. No option for filling it in electronically like you can with some online crosswords. I guess the end game would often make it very difficult / impossible to complete online.

I have completed this, and followed the instruction from the corrected letters to achieve the satisfying final grid. But although the instruction was obvious, I can't derive it unambiguously from the replacements. In particular, the only possible substitution I can see in "Heathen..." doesn't fit, and I can't see where to use the necessary letter.

It doesn't make any real difference, as I'm sure my final grid is correct. But this annoys me, and I'd like to know!
