Well, that was quite gentle and immensely satisfying. Thank you, Kruger, and a happy new year to one and all.

Indeed gentle and nice to have a tidy grid at the end. HNY to all.

Thank you Kruger. A magnificent construction indeed.
Got some of the letters wrong to start with, making gibberish.
Happy New Year to all!

I must have some letters wrong also, as other from the first 5 or 6 I still have gibberish - but I am missing 3 of the 19 at the moment.

All done now - I had a "type" instead of a "beer" as a misprint, once I spotted that it proved relatively easy spotting my 3 missing misprints.

Brilliant puzzle, thanks Kruger. Very clever construction, nice clues, no ambiguities, simple but satisfying endgame. Top notch.

Yes, a welcome change away from tedious grid staring - unlike this weeks bloody IQ.

Thanks to Kruger for treating me to a most enjoyable afternoon while wife and daughter (26) watched a Paddington Bear movie. I made my life difficult by not starting the grid fill until I had cold solved all but three. With hindsight the two nine letter solutions opened it up very quickly. I hadn't heard of the first thematic grid entry.

Good fun. All done except the unchecked letter of the Prince of Wales’ degree. What can it be ?
