17 across was a rogue and horribly inaccurate clue which has been sent to the corner wearing a pointed hat. Apologies.

I don't understand the problem with the clue for 17. If the first letter is the usual abbreviation for "old", then the rest of the clue is the Comms alphabet for "Oscar" inside (wearing) a word for "less". It looks perfectly correct to me.

Late to the party ! I got stuck on the last four, so had a coffee and went out to do some leaf-raking . Lo and behold, when I returned, observereveryman had popped in (Welcome and thanks for the new clue) so finally finished. Trickier than last week's but enjoyable.
