Another funny coincidence: notice the 3 characters, reading down the 6th column, centered on the 3d letter of 11 across. They really fit with the first 5 letters of 11a! Or the red herring Nina in column 8... 🤣

Morning all, I was about to ask what’s going on in 17 but I see you’ve covered it. Bit of a shame to have an error, very good otherwise I thought. 15 definitely a favourite

I’m still having problems with the app freezing btw, anyone else on iOS with this problem? I think I might have to reinstall it, but I’d hate to lose all my history

No doubt you've already thought of this but have you tried turning it off and on again:-)

I only say that because the app is working fine on my Android phone.

Thanks Brendan, yes indeed, in fact I had to quit the app and relaunch it about six times in the course of doing the Everyman. I’m pretty sure it’s a compatibility issue with the latest iOS version, as that’s when the problem started, so hopefully a fix will come along…

99% sure I've got the right answer for 2D ... but only if I ignore most it and treat the final word as a quick crossword clue. Can anyone explain what's going on with the rest?

Hi Phil,

2d - The first 3 letters are a homophone of "see" as in 'go out with' + A from the clue - very devious

I think you might be right Smot, I've just got the speaker in the FreeOnline dictionary to say it and the T is very 'soft' in the US pronunciation:-)

17ac - “Creepy endless fog, with nothing less enveloping” ??

Still a bit clunky parsing.

Really enjoyed the rest!

I thought this was really difficult so well done to all those that, didn't. 5d was my COD. 1a and 9a were also tricky. Had to look at a photo for 9a then penny dropped.
