25d is South American I think, one of those faddy type of things.
Yes I forgot to mention 2d being close to GK instead of cryptic. I think partly thatโs because the answer is more well-known than the other one which makes up 5/7 of it
3D I see both Geeker and Brendan mention the cleverness of this one. Too clever for me, I'm afraid. It went in early, but I can't parse the thing for love nor money. Bit of help? (Also, thanks Geeker for 16A ... That was driving me crazy too!)
3d two letters for The Observer, then a two word a Latin phrase (2,3) (normally written as a two letter abbreviation) around the usual single letter for right
Thanks Brendan and Jono. No wonder I couldn't get it ... Latin wasn't an option at my comp ๐. PS A little surprised there have been no votes for 13A as COD yet. Shortest &Lit/anagram combo ever? Very clever.
A good puzzle I thought. FOI 5d, LOI 8d. Plenty of COD contenders, I liked 10a, 13a, 16a, 2d, 3d (thanks for the help with parsing!), 8d. All the best everybody.
On line I solve from 1 to last. Apart from 3d and 8d the first nine were write ins. I did 9d before I got to 8 and nearly just walked away. After my 3 score and ten, I still can't see Spoonerisms. Rest of this one was pretty easy. Tx for 16a across Geeker. 3d was an embarrassing pdm; great clue. Been finished a couple of hours and still can't see 8. Not wasting any more time. I'll wait for 225.
