.. ignore me! I’d convinced myself that 4d ending in S was an OK solution for “a rocker” .. rather than the now much more obvious meaning .. maybe it’s due to me not being enough of a dinosaur to immediately recognise the name 😉

I have one more question re 9d .. I think I have the answer but can’t see how the clue works .. enlightenment would be much appreciated.

Also, is the ignored D at (9,4) bothering anybody else?

I am struggling to finish the top half of this as I seem to have too many ignored letters, Are the first 4 letters of the second clue at 2 across ignored. I too cannot see 9 down, nor 7 down.

2nd of 2ac: no it's the 1st and 3rd letters that are ignored
9d:the first two letters only are clued in wordplay
7d: likewise, first two letters only for first clue, last two only for second

9d - one minus o = ne (I think).
7 - 'in' = trendy [from ship leaves just one letter]
