14a Think of what magicians do with rabbits! Definition is a sporting achievement (field as in sports field)

I've completed the crossword but I can't parse 10a. I must be missing something obvious as no one else seems to have had any trouble with it! Please could someone explain it for me?

Read 10 backwards. "Ladies man" includes 2 initial letters.

I'm baffled by 19d. I decided that it starts EM, but I'm completely failing to see the hostelries in my plausible answer (if the definition is "stops").

Definition is stops, yeah. It's not on "quick solve" on this site but the 5 letter version of it is (without an S at the end, with the S implied by "hostelries", plural). I cheated and looked at a site with words beginning with EM and had rest of letters in it.

I found 19 rather questionable. One of my last ones in, because I also questioned the usage of "hostelries", but confident of the solution. I don't use or own a copy of Chambers, so can never argue much about such points.

Very much enjoyed this Everyman and has others have mentioned, it continues a fine run. I also got hung up over a headless rodent in 16d (first 5 letters reversed). There’s also another headless weaselly type in the bottom 5 letters reversed… add an r for that one, so thanks to this thread for the correct parsing.

According to the Uxbridge English Dictionary which is regularly dipped into on I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, 3d can also mean “the angle at which a thermometer is inserted.”

No rhyming couplets this week (and last week was a bit of a stretch) so I hope they get back to those.

Crossword coincidence: the recent FT 16,870, set by Buccaneer (Picaroon in the Guardian), features the same 25 as this Everyman. Cluing is different, though.
