I know, but it’s fun that everyone in the world plays the same game each day, and that there’s only one a day. I compete against my nieces, I won’t say who’s winning 😉

I play with friends who are online. I had "magnificent" awarded for 2/6 today. I guess I was just lucky with my first guess

I’m impressed Jazzgirl, I tend to lead off with ADIEU or sometimes ASIDE but I’m yet to achieve 2/6.

And apologies to anyone who has no idea what we are talking about!

Today my first word had the first 3 letters in correct order which is not usually the case !

On BBC1 news a few days ago, I had muted the sound and had subtitles switched on, so as to avoid waking others who were still asleep. I was shocked that the Serbian tennis player appeared as Jock Itch, until it was corrected a few seconds later

Wordle
No spoiler now that Tuesday has gone. Like jono I got it in three thinking what amazing luck to go WATER HORSE (still only two correct letters, but not in the right places) PROXY, but jazzgirl's second line finish trumps that.

I have played 6 times now and never failed (worst at line 5) so I get the impression that the game is too easy without a time limit. There is of course a time limit in the ITV game Lingo - much more difficult. I wonder if time could be built into the personal stats, which currently refer only to one's winning streak.

Presumably one has to enter a valid word each time? I can't start with EEEEE?

I struck lucky yesterday(Tue) as I started with PROSE. Today may be a failure. Wordle makes it easier with no time limit. Unlike Jono I have been starting with 3 consonants and 2 vowels. It has to be a valid word each time I'm sure. Here we go ...... I will share my failure with my usual group

5/6 today, my ADIEU strategy didn’t really help and my last two guesses were 50:50 and of course I picked the wrong one.

If you want a game to play against the clock, ‘Codeword’ on the Guardian app is quite fun. It’s a grid fill in the knowledge that the completed grid is a pangram. I’m generally around 5 mins, but was under 3 mins today.

In case it’s if of interest and you haven’t seen these. (Spoiler alert: this may suck the fun out of it for you)

Note the second article does not require the “hard” option that all guesses must conform to previously revealed letters. So if you wanted to use the 10 most common English letters you could go HEART and LIONS regardless of the first result. Would almost eliminate possibility of a 2, but improve overall average. I prefer that guesses must be possible answers
