Glad to hear it, Gitto! I guess the Listener themes can't please everyone all of the time - I loved this but was one of the few dissenting voices about the recent code puzzle, for example.

I've got an N for the answer to that clue.

Thanks loge, I took another look over lunch and thanks to your helpful pointer to the correct version, have now finished. Nice grid fill, shame about the endgame. Not my favourite genre of music by a long stretch.

Loge, there is definitely a delay, each post I do is n+1 of n.

Planks, I am an old punk and if I could create crosswords and write clues I would love to create one on that theme - only in retaliation to this and felonius Monk (as he first appeared in that Xword). I'm not vindictive, but jazz is only second to C&W at the bottom of my playlist.

If you ever do get round to writing that crossword, you'd only need one row to represent the vocal line of "God Save the Queen" or "Anarchy in the UK"!

I would try to utilise something more obscure.

I had missed the appropriate placing of cells for the second thematic item. That clears up a possible ambiguity in one of the columns.
Although I have no real musical skills I very much enjoyed this.
