Just got stuck in SE corner. Help please.
36a: cross road when returning coming round (for) nothing (5)
32d: criminal bringing in wife - what she does is illegal in many places (4)

Jogamel 32 is straightforward. Just a common three-letter word for 'criminal', evil...with the usual 'wife' inside.

In 36, cross in the sense of hybrid, middle letter unclued. In 32, usual abbreviation for wife in synonym for criminal.

36. The definition is 'cross' - one of those odd animals, like a tigon. There's a three- letter road, reversed (turning) and a 'nothing' ...

Ozzy re #8, I went for M, as R is possible but not specifically Scottish. But having a definition and no wordplay is a bit odd, and does slightly spoil what is otherwise a lovely puzzle. Unless I’ve misunderstood something.

I think I may have gone wrong as I have the last 2 letters of 37a as WD - can that be right?
