Hi, all. Struggled with this in parts & still no ideas for 9 & 12A despite having all the crossers. For 12A, I'm fairly confident about the 2nd word & its construction, but can't get the first. Hints welcome.

Thanks, Phil & others. When the P finally did D for 13D's parsing, I was v impressed by it. 25A is similarly clever.

barryc, I found 12a a little clumsy. First word of answer seems to be a syn for 4th word of clue.

9 is an anagram, with "slamming" the anagrind (term I picked up from p.1 of thread).

4th, 5th and 6th words for me, geeker.

9A is an anagram (the indicator is 'slamming').
12A First word is a rather nastier term for roly-poly.

I counted the hyphenated text as a single word in 12's clue. I thought the 5th (or 6th) word was used to supply the final letter of the answer.

ah. someone said earlier that #4 was text speak for the last letter, though "why use 2 characters when one would?" did occur to me!
