Very surprised to have finished! Despite earlier posts I can't parse 6d and can't identify the mole in 22d so any help with that appreciated.

6d was apparently 24d 10 (I didn't know that, but Google helped). Mole is a bit loose for 22d - I think they are different things, but both are associated with seashores.

Ah I'm surprised people didn't like this one - me and my Dad thoroughly enjoyed it.

We got off to a fast start though - think we just got into Paul's mind (for once!)

Favourite was definitely the John Travolta clue, but thought lots of them were really clever.

Thanks as always for the tips and tricks

Big thanks to the forum for all the hints, without which and use of Google I would still be in the dark....however all done now and looking back, yes it was a challenge but enjoyable one in parts.... never heard of 6d and many of the synonyms used but learning new words and interesting spin offs is part of the enjoyment. Liked 17a, and all the work that went into the pesky mole clue !!!

Apologies if this has been asked before.

19 down

I have _e_a_c_

Any hints welcome as no anagrams seem to beckon. If W is the third letter, how does it phase (hell?)

Thanks

I think your letters are wrong? Maybe how you've spelt the artist in 23a

Look again is the definition, then another word for hell follows wreck "uncovered"

May I be the 94th person to say that this is a stinker ...... could only complete with help from the forum hints and old friend Mr Google. I did know the artist and got the answer from the crossers - caused a small guffaw when I only then saw how the clue worked! As an earlier poster mentioned I was surprised at Paul’s restraint in 6d - an opportunity missed perhaps for one of his infamously risqué clues.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I can't start my week until 6d is parsed. I have finished and know the references but am lost about the skin on thigh. Help!

Hi Mistype,

6d - Definitely a tricky clue to unpack. Anagram/"doctor" of 'operated' + the outer letters or "skin" on T(hig)H.
