My solution is another name for an area of the body.
Not sure where mole comes into it, though.

My friend was talking on the phone about sea defences near her home. For ages I thought they were cedar fences!

Like many didn't really get on with this. Usually with Paul I get a lightbulb moment when things begin to fall into place. But not today. Some strange words used such as wicked and plain.

Never heard of 17a and no idea how it parses.

No idea how 14a parses other than the definition.

Some ideas would be good if it can be done with no spoilers.

Never heard of 22a either.

COD probably 6d also though Google was involved.

But, they can't be good every week.

17 is a classic horse race, held at the Derby meeting at Epsom. It's the older Roosevelt familiarly, then a 3 letter a "music" (?) genre backwards.
14 the last 5 letters are sometimes used to mean a "fixation" or obsession.

Thanks Chris. I have heard of the race but didn't make the classic connection. I get 14 now too. But yes, not on his wavelength today.

Phew. Got there in the end, thanks to a lot of help from here. FOI 10a. LOI 24a which I just couldn’t get for some reason. Unlike others I liked 23a, my COD

As I said earlier, the problem with 23a is that, unless you actually know the artist, you can't tell if the third letter is E or I.

Hi everyone

Like many of you I'm not doing at all well today. I've read all the thread and hope to get more. In the meantime, please can I have a hint for 5d for which I hve no crossers yet. I will be back later asking for more, but must get the washing in!
