This week most of the clues seemed to be straightforward then, as is the pattern, I got stuck..

I thought the extra word was the first in clue 1. Reading this excellent thread I see that the extra word is in 38 down, Is the extra letter in 1 down in the penultimate word? If so I'll have another bash before returning to this thread when I next get stuck. Mrs Seal is preparing an early dinner so I can watch my beloved Wales.

It’s one of those clues that only work if a seemingly random sequence of letters are actually upon checking a word for the thing described in the clue (five letters in this case).

Thank goodness for the requirement for the definition to be exactly as written in Chambers.

I might be being a bit dim but what is the significance of the title?

Thrilled to have done this (nearly) all by myself, just needed to peek here for the final move which seemed quite unclear until I checked out the excellent help here, for which, as ever, many thanks. Smithsax, I think the title is just to be interpreted as 'this is your fate', the eventual outcome of all of us as decreed by the 'physical law'!
