My take - the key is in the last line of the first verse, together with the contents of 14D and 16D.

So the H*** moves (right, five columns) from the H to the C.

That's what I've got, thanks to Zabadak's earlier hint.

As a point of pedantry, surely the principle dictates that the H can't move in that direction at all? Just a thought.

Loge - the principle means it can’t move in the opposite direction (from C to H)

Radiators would be pretty useless if it couldn’t move from H to C!

Yes you're right, I was looking at it the wrong way round! How much more am I going to embarrass myself this week?

HW7 - Brilliant!

I can now stop trying to over-egg this and move onto the "I" - I think "Lockdown" should now be re-named Groundhog Day.

I have almost completed everything but cannot reconcile the bottom line. I have the phrase but my 4 checked letters do not tally. Or do I just ignore them and put in the 4 letters which produce the phrase?
