Hi, all. This was quite a struggle. Like Lucy I only did it today. Got there in the end, except I can’t pars 13.

13 - A + four letter word for a group of nits, then s for second and another word for group on top (of the s)

I think you've got the wrong crossword Jono:-)

13a - ME (from the clue) + a 5 letter word for "plate" (as on a fish or reptile) around a 2 letter word for "popular" as in 'fashionable'.

So sorry, that’s the parse for 13d in the Everyman!

Well, I thought that was pretty fierce. Starting to feel confident after two weeks of completing the prize before I looked at the forum, to get almost nowhere this time! Still stick on 23d and 27a, despite the hints here. In fact a comment on 23d only made it worse for me, it suggested that following Nov 31 should have 0 instead of 1, but I reckon it should have a 2 so I can't make any sense of it at all
