Finished, but with little pleasure, as only three of my answers came by actually solving the clues. Perhaps it's just me but I'm increasingly finding Paul's wordplay to be useful only to check answers obtained by guesswork based on the hints here and on putting the crossers into the OneLook Dictionary.

"Leg" equates to the first syllable and pink to the second, which I don't quite understand. In fact the whole clue grates because of the presence of the letters of pink appearing in the solution. Some might call it misdirection. I call it loose cluing.

pink as in dressmaking? not quite right, though
the flowers "pinks" are named for the pinked edges of the petals. the name of the colour derives from the fact that most of them are pale red!

9,11 put "staff I" backwards inside 2 3-letter words that would be an unusually long hole in golf.

Brendan re 2d. I think the "quickly" goes with "read out" rather bthan with "take down"

FemmeNoire: two different "strokes" equating to "it" in the usual Pauline sense, as jono hints.
