All done, except that I don't have an extra word to define the grid entry for 8d.
There seem to be superfluous words in 35a, but I can't see how they fit.

Piped is extra word. 2nd and 3rd words are definition. Reverse a six letter word meaning "of ancient characters" and omit the final C.

The first word is extra, the def is (insect's) developmental stage - wordplay = ''of an ancient Celtic alphabet'' [reversed] minus the final C(ollege).
