I was enjoying this one and am almost done, but a hint on the parsing of 4 down and 5 down would be warmly welcomed. 4 down is the bigger worry, as I can't get anything to fit with the other answers around it - but I'm sure they're all correct.

Suzannahj, in 4 the definition is the first word. Small sum is a five-letter word, small change/coins, with a three-letter word (in the clue, once you're removed a letter) inside (divided by).

If anyone is around! I have three empty cells, to achieve a full grid. They are in 25a and 35a. Please help. I suspect 25a changes in endgame but doesn’t help me right now.

lumen, if it helps the extra letter in 25a is 's' and the extra letter in 35a is 'i'.

Lumen, 25ac is a double definition.
35 across has a synonym for twist, we usually use the negative form.

Obviously there are two Ss that could be removed in 25, I’m assuming the second, is a proper noun involved? A name?
