Smithsax, that was my reference about 8 dn at my earlier post!

Like others, I have done well in the left hand section but am struggling to get going on the right. Can I get a pointer for 6a?

'said you' gives the letter to be removed from one word before anag, lumen.

Lumen, the last word is the definition. The 'said you must leave' leads to a letter disappearing...

Also struggling with solving the message, ‘an extra word or letter’ is unusual, and all the ones I have solved are just letters. Are there many extra words?

Lumen, there aren't many extra words , and they're not dispersed evenly....

I've got this all finished but for the parsing of 11a - I have the extra letter but that's about it - help appreciated.

The definition is the first two words. The first two letters of your answer appear in Chambers + a common three letter 'treat' and the usual 'last word', minus the extra letter.
