I have finished this one now and my solution agrees with posts 19 & 30.

I think I've finished; I'm just not sure I've done the eight straight lines correctly. Are they supposed to spell out something (mine don't)? And how is the novel an "interpretation" of the seventh item? I don't think it's an interpretation; it just is.

Orson, my eight straight lines spell out the name of the novel. I think the 'novel interpretation' is just playing on words, it's a novel featuring the seventh item.

Once the lines have been drawn the novel becomes an interpretation of the 7th item, orson.

But the name of the novel is the seventh item, no? (I must be missing something.) I've started and ended at the beginning and end of 41a.

It's the name of the house in the novel - check the synopsis, orson.
