Alwayspuzzled, thanks. Yes, we seem to be having a fairly good run of decent puzzles - I just hope it lasts!

PS That homophone (alleged homophone) clue was very poor - in my opinion, maybe other solvers didn't mind it!

An enjoyable puzzle (in a week when the Listener was far too difficult). Could I just test my understanding, with apologies if this has been picked up earlier in the thread?. My thematic item in rows 6 and 9 have only 4 letters and the one in row 11 three letters. Do others concur?
The one in the bottom row was the name of my next door neighbours dog!

Williamseal, you seem to have the same shorts as I have.

I found the Listener clues - the non-thematic ones - fairly straightforward, but the rest of it was a real battle!

Thanks for the help on this enjoyable puzzle. I think I have got it now.

I had 3 drinks in one row - caudle, arak and raki, and raki/kir in another.

I kept making wrong changes. The grid is a mess and I need a drink - all 15 of them!

Grunger, thanks - yes, it was a bit of a tangle at times!

PS You could have had another kir, inside the longer short in row 3!

Thanks. Yes I have never known the difference Kir and Kirsch, so must try both!

I took up your suggestion to try a kir inside a kirsch. It resulted in a lovely fruity cocktail. The araki mixture was not pleasant and I am resisting the temptation to put a candle in the caudle.
