Grid completed now. However I cannot enter the creator of the work in the grid. I have looked at the first word of the title of the work and tried to associate moves with that entity but that doesn’t seem to work with the first name. Any help would be much appreciated

Finally seen it.

I made a rash decision regarding the central square at my first attempt (it isn't the 7th letter of the first name).

I am struggling with NE corner. Could someone help please with either 7d or 8d, or even both.

Cass, 7d. Def is 'behind'. Abb. for 'acting' + synonym for 'stern'.

7d. Def is first 3 words. Synonym for 'sample' + abb. for an altered word, all reversed.
