granama 1 - Not sure if you have parsed 5A yet - the first six letters are the defn ( partition ) last letter is the add on. If you have the write, the three internal letters are an abbrev for 'measures for bombardment'

Ah. Thanks Crates, I'd been a bit thoughtless with 5a and got stuck with looking for some bomb aiming abbreviation rather than measures against bombarding. Should have spent more time leafing through Chambers and paying more attention to the many variations in spelling of the entry (5 six letter options!).
PS I think I'd better start a notebook of all the regular 2 or 3 letter clue components like that in 30d - they crop up pretty often in Azeds as well.

Any suggestions on parsing 29A? Looks like "IN" is poet's abode for some reason - can anyone enlighten me why? (INN shortened, perhaps? but then why "poet's"?)

Have filled the grid (though slowly), but have no idea of the title or the creator - a hint would be most welcome! Many thanks

lwo - check the Chambers entry for INN to see who the poet is

Diver. If you have identified the three words - grid entries not pre modified versions - put then into google and you should get a hit. The puzzle title should help too.

Can anyone give me hints for 26d and 36a. I would much appreciate any input

There are reversals in both clues -

26 you're looking for a word for 'capture,' leading to a 3 letter synonym
36 you're looking for a word for a piece of furniture, leading to a 3 letter synonym.
