Hi, Planks. The "e" is the extra letter. Then see "ethnic" as an anagram plus the "heart" of Adriatic. Think vino.

tonynannini, your misprints are correct, as are your unclued answers. To make sense of the misprints you need to look at the letters they replaced and how such a replacement could be effected. That should indicate the relevant transformation in each group

Oh crumbs. Thankyou hotelwhiskey7 and everyone else. I could kick myself, I've been limbering up doing the back catalogue of Azeds and that centre of emotion came up in one recently. Time for a bit of displacement activity and a mental reboot. I keep following the same blind alleys. (On the plus side, this weeks Azed is all anagrams. Yay!)

Thanks for your help Quisling. I'm feeling very obtuse and am none the wiser unfortunately. Are the 2 unclued entries simply random. I can't for the life of me see a connection!

The unclued entries are random, but the only words that fit that could belong to two of the groups. As far as the misprints, you should have

p > b
d > b
p > d

You need to imagine what operations could do that. The extra letters should spell it out. My post at #19, modified by #21, gives a clue

Gosh, this is hard...but what fun ! if anyone happens to be passing, I would really appreciate a hint for:
"Eminently dad won scenic picture." Does this one have a misprint? I know what the extra letter is, but just can't work it out. Likewise
"Specifically after rimless dish". I've searched endlessly for dishes, to no avail!
Any help greatly appreciated, thank you.

samovar, the first one does have a misprint, the first letter of the second word.

In the second one, the definition is "dish", as a verb, and the contents of the word "soup" are followed by a two word phrase meaning specifically (2,3) which contains the extra letter

Thank you very much, Quisling. That's a great help. It's a relief to have the misprint identified, I've been searching for it for ages !
