I'd start with a question before smart solvers start discussing end game.

The wordplay has one extra letter.
Three clues have one letter misprint. Don't know if this is one.

Norse dialect followed by the Roman heroes —

It's N, Sunray but the highest numbers you'd normally think of help get the back end of the word.

This is flipping (!) tricky. Are Group 3's second and third clues in the correct order?

Yes son1ofrover1, they are.

So presumably 'o', not 'r' (which I have), is the extra letter in the second clue? If so - and the answer is a....s - I cannot understand why.
