No K. We do indeed want a geometer, but there is a second word as well, a geometrical one unsurprisingly.

The down clues do indeed start with that one, as dictated by the symmetry of the across clue lengths.

I back-solved those two clues, I had never encountered either of the answers before.

I would suggest solving the other two 11 letter clues and it will not take much more to see the grid falling into place

You can stil lgive me a little hint on those two.
I think I solved the The dark clue. It begins with B and ends in T.
I have still not solved the other 11 letter clue. Is it an anagram?
