I would welcome help with my last two clues.
12ac I think I know the answer but can't parse it.
35ac. Even with 3 out of 4 letters known, I can't see how to get an answer. I assume this is a modified clue.
Hopefully someone will be able to help.
For 35 I think it's - dORMOUS(e) for 'tailless rodent' and 'giving up front of den' (= minus the d) which is replaced by 'rest' = EN in the sense of a 'rest' being a punctuation mark.
I've started late (as usual) and nearly there with the grid fill. With reference to crucifer's post (no. 6), since when has 'imp' been an abbreviation for import? It isn't in my Chambers (I have the revised 13th ed.)
Thanks to those who've parsed 13a - it was driving me mad.
