Heard on BBC News yesterday ... people are being `blue-lighted` to hospital when they need emergency treatment ... I would have thought an ambulance would be sufficient.

Yes I agree. And shouldn't it be "blue-lit"?

Tyke, Jigjag

I have been inspired by your discussions to stand for the Crossword Party in the European elections.

We have 2 policies which is one more than the Brexit Party.

1. To attend all Cross(word)- Party talks.
2. To attend all parties.

Our policies are cryptic and in black and white, though possibly “double meaning” or “hidden”. I may be a square but I have seen the light. No puns will be allowed by the Party, and I ‘ave an ‘ unch I will be elected.

I have never been "blue-lighted ", but I have been "red-lighted" in 2 different senses!

I love it Grunger. I will definitely vote for you. I will put "a cross" "down" against your name. I am sure you will beat the Conservative candidate.

On Radio Merseyside, a soccer pundit said that Liverpool had "unbelievable belief" that they could win the Premier League. Presumably Man City had "believable belief" and the difference proved decisive.

Chris Kamara has made a good living with his `unbelievable Jeff` catch-phrase - it does get a bit tedious though!

I have been studying geography recently with a view to planning my next holiday. What better way to catch up with current trends than to invest 4 hours watching the Eurovision Song Contest last night.

I was surprised the event was being held in Asia, but was delighted that Australia has moved into Europe as it won't be as far to travel when I go there. Is Azerbaijan really in Europe? And what about North Macedonia...is that the new name for North Sudan?

It was interesting that Germany scored NIL points in the public vote. I was pleased that The Netherlands won - or should it be Holland?

Is Kamara on SKY? - I never watch it.

My first day of the cricket season at Old Trafford tomorrow - Lancs v Worcs. Forecast looks good.
